Living bodies are made of highly delicate mechanisms. In my 30 years of working in research, I have learnt that “living organisms know best about living organisms”. This is also true in drug discovery, and direct screening in animals allows substances with efficacy to be obtained from the first attempt. However, we previously did not have the methods available to achieve this. This was the background in which Sky Pharma’s drug discovery pipeline was developed.
